New Glasses

I lost my glasses over the summer, and I finally gave up on my hope of finding them. I just need them to see things far away, so it wasn't a huge deal to be without them for a few months. However, it will make seeing the chalkboard in class a bit easier. :)

The doctor told me I had about 20/25 vision, so not too shabby. He also said my eyes shouldn't change much for a long time, which I was a little worried about. What if my eyes just kept getting worse until I went blind!? That would be so sad. But no worries anymore! Oh, and just a side note: they didn't have to dilate my eyes with the eyedrops. They were surprised how dilated my eyes usually are...I guess that explains why I go blind on bright days! It can be quite the conundrum.

I was pretty daring with them this time! Last time my glasses were more formal and conservative. I actually walked in telling the ladies that were helping me find a frame I liked that I didn't want anything too colorful. A lot of super colorful glasses seem tacky to me. These, however, I just couldn't resist.

Poor Bob is Dead (Maybe)

Please listen to this link in another tab as you read this. Replace the words "Poor Jud is dead, Poor Jud Fry is dead" to "Poor Bob is dead, poor Bob Car is dead." It will greatly enhance your experience.

Bob is my car. A 1988 Toyota Camry, passed down through the family for years, a good and faithful addition to our life. However, while he was transporting me from point A to point B (which is Bob's only real purpose for his existence, for he can't do much more than move in his frail condition) something happened to him. I am not quite sure how or why he broke, but Bob is old. I have figured he is the equivalent to about a 147 year old man. This was calculated very scientifically, and I must say accurately, since a car's life is about the same as a dog's, and a dog has about 7 years to every human year. So, considering Bob's shockingly old age, he has done phenomenally well, and I suppose something is allowed to go wrong in him every now and then.

Well, one of Bob's bodily functions went wrong on Saturday night, for now he cannot drive. He can move into all of the different gears, but it's like Bob is stuck in neutral. I've tried driving in first, second, and reverse. And nothin'. Soon, when I have time to attend to him, I will take him to the repair shop and hopefully they will get Bob movin' again. Though, it might be more worth it just to let him go. You've gotta do that sometimes. Let go of the ones you love. *tear*

It was quite the experience trying to move Bob back to my apartment parking lot. Jen was kind enough to tow Bob, with me steering in the back. Well, she had a ridiculously enjoyable time pulling my car. I, and I'm sure Bob as well, were absolutely terrified! I couldn't even see the pavement between us and I was supposed to just let us coast behind her at 20 mph. Holy cow!! In the end though we all survived, and Bob is safe and resting at our home sweet home. All in all, it was a crazy time having Bob slowly go dead.

Tired Day with Anamials and Dancing

So, today in my biology class I was trying to spell the word animal. It was extremely unsuccessful. What I wrote was: Anamial. I looked at it, and it just didn't look quite right. I then tried again knowing that the way I just spelled it was complete bogus! After crossing out anamials I wrote anamals above it. I then had to write a dark "i" on top of the a. Oh my, oh my, what a tired day! I can be so dang spacey.

In my dance class we're working on the fox trot! :) I really like this dance, it's so flowy with fun moves, but isn't so intense like the waltz (which I love too, it's just different.) We get to do all of the moves we learned in waltz, and just change up the beat and we're doing fox trot. It's sweeet. Also, we get to dance to Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra! Does it get better? I think not. My class is doing a "performance" for the other Social Dance classes at the beginning of December. We'll probably do it to "Baby, It's Cold Outside" and do a mixture of fox trot and west coast swing. Maybe it does get better after all. :)

Boring Blogger? Well, Sheesh.

A family member that will remain anonymous has informed me that I am a boring blogger. How sad is that?? Where is the love and understanding in this world??? This person that will remain unnamed has a camera and little kids to add to his/her stories. But really, despite the obvious unfairness of this accusation, he/she is kind of right, so I am making a blog today. :)

Well, for Halloween I dressed up first as a bathroom superhero. Yes, I know. Why would anyone do such a thing?? Well, in Tall Club we all decided to dress up for a booth we were putting on, and have a theme for our costumes. They actually turned out pretty good; not nearly as...odd as it sounds. I don't have any pictures for it yet, sorry! The next night I dressed up (kind of) for a ward Halloween party. I just draped a scarf around my head and wore sunglasses, the way that Audrey Hepburn does in all of her movies. Also, can I just say that that scarf? It was $5. Mmmhmmm. :) It was a sweet deal. And the scarf is really thick and warm too! It'll be perfect in a month or so when it's super cold outside.

Jen's costume was extra spectacular. She was Pegasus! She wore white sweats, made herself a mane and tail out of blue yarn, feathered wings, and a cone shaped thing as her horn. It was awesome. The others were fabulous too of course, but Jen's was just amazing. Here's the group:

(From left to right: Me, Jen, Olivia, Amanda, and Dionna in the front.)
And yes, I am fully aware of how creepy I am in that picture, but the group is cute. :) We partied it up with sugar, dancing, a cake walk, and Mexican food. It was fabulous.

The only other fun thing I can think of doing lately between homework, studying, and tests, is that I hiked the Y with a guy from my ward. For all who haven't seen BYU, we are right next to some mountains. There is a huge Y painted on the side of the closest mountain, and when you "hike the Y" you're just hiking to the top of the Y. It was actually a lot harder than I expected. It was short (it only took about 45 minutes) but it was steep. We went at night so that we could see the city lights. It was really fun to see the city from up there, it was a really good view, we could see the entire Salt Lake, up to the SLC, and of course all of Provo.

The sunset was gorgeous! The picture doesn't do it justice.

Besides that, I'm just excited for Thanksgiving!!! :) It's so soon! About 2 weeks and I'll be headed home for four full days of fun in Denver. And enjoying the sweeeeeet sunsets of CO. Brandi sent this one to me a few weeks ago:

She does this to me occasionally, trying to get me to move back to CO. It just makes me so excited to visit!

And just real quick....does anybody even use the Webdings font? What the heck is that for??

Step, Bump, Step, Bump, Bump

Okay everyone. I've been meaning on writing something for a while, but...well, I haven't. Life is busy, what can I say? Anyways, as I was taking a break from studying and doing homework, I came across this video.

I know that drunk driving is a serious thing, but this is crazy! I would like to think that I would be like this if I ever was drunk.

Just Happy

Why hello everyone. :)

So...why am I happy? Here you go:

Sooo, the first thing I think of is my hair. I know, I know...but, I got home early from school today, took a shower, and did my hair nice and straight. I like it straight, it feels clean and smooth. I haven't been doing it straight much lately cause it takes a bit of time, versus just scrunching my hair real fast and that's that. My straight hair is nice.

Four of five of my tests are DONE. *sigh* This is one of the best.

It is Friday, and we're having a movie night tonight. :) I'm excited to just relax!

I'm just in a really good mood! :) Hope you all have a great week/weekend!

Week of Death

This week I've got 4 exams (yes, you read that correctly. Exams in each of my major classes...in four days) AND my cha cha test. (I'm still trying to get some of the moves down for that, they're freakin' fast!! And the guys are really hard to follow....sooo that's gonna be interesting.)
So, starting tomorrow a test a day. And one of the days 2. LAME.

On a happier note, however, a guy in my dance class actually lives in BC (my apartment complex), so I have an easily-accessible dance partner if I want one. He's short. As in a few inches shorter than I am. I just needed to point that out for all of you getting all excited to go on and on about this. However, a dance partner is a dance partner and is definitely always appreciated.

I'm off to do homework. *Sob* Ohhhh, Friday, where are you????

Also, if anyone has any dinner ideas that include green peppers I need them. Please, and thankyou. :)

A Whole New World

So.

I've done it.

My life will no longer be the same. Neither will yours. For I've entered the world of ranting, raving, story-telling, and extensive news-sharing.

I'm entering the blogosphere.

Haha, yes, I am also surprised that I actually wrote that word. I told you that our lives are forever altered.
